Bears

When the guy mentioned about camping, this is what I was fearing:

Yosemite 6_2009 162

This cute little guy never came near our camp.  He/She was just lying around having a good time sleeping.  He/She was near Glaser Point which a far from our camp.

This baby bear was roaming around (without Mama anywhere).  Notice this little bear has already be tagged.

One thing I need to mentioned, we were told to be careful with the bears at night but we did not expect to see them in the daylight.  One "stupid" lady wanted to go pet this little bear - ah lady, this isn't the petting zoo.  Geez, what is wrong with this lady!!

camping

Okay, one of the least favorite thing in the whole wide world for me is to camp out in the woods with the bear(s).  Yup, that is what we are doing pretty soon.  Hubby wants to do this with the girls and they are all looking so forward to this camping trip.  I for one would rather be camping in a nice hotel with nothing to do - nope that is not on his agenda.  So until I get back - nothing here for awhile (sorry).

great show

Sorry - I have been away.  The show came off really well.  The big guy and I had center stage and I really got some great shots.  The reason I was able to take these shots was the teacher did not want the moms dressing the girls.  The girls had to dress themselves.  (Lord, we have been practicing on changing costumes).  So without much ado, here are some shots I took of the girls:

This came off kind of fuzzy (I did this on purpose so I didn't want to show too much of other people).

I have others but right now I am editing some of the pictures.

Walk thru 6-7-09 056

You probably wondering 'What the heck and what language is this'.  Don't worry, it is the girls line up for our big show this saturday.  We were at the park on sunday for the run thru.  It was really nice where the parents get to meet other parents.  Also it was a family outing.  Now I have to get back to doing one costume.  See you next week when I hope more pictures of the girls.

Guess I never think this would ever happened....

I never expect this giant of company would ever do this but I guess it needs to do it to protect themselves.

It is official: GM files for protection

What next I wondered????

Our trip to hawaii

Hawaii 5-24-09 026

I love going to hawaii - I have fun shopping, eating the "local" foods and most of all - just a time for me to relax.  This time we haven't visit this island for three years and there are a lot of changes on this island.

I know because of the economy, this is one reason.  I noticed when I went to Ala Moana, this shopping mall has changed into a highend mall.  All the locals are going somewhere else to shop.  When I was there, the mall was practically empty.  I saw all the shops inside there, I told myself I can go home to shop at these store ie., Nordstrom, Bebe, Chanel, etc.   The only thing I always go to Ala Moana was the food court.  The food court is still there but I wonder how long before more stores leave.

I love going to this island is to eat all the "local" places we know.  Since we last been there, the selection have increased.  The big guy cousin took us to a couple of new places.  I love it.  The "local" places are places only the people on the island knows.  One place they took us is called St. Louis Drive In.  It is actually a place on a corner, mama and papa place, you can order the "house special" (teri chicken, fish, teri beef, local vegetables, and of course rice).  I had ordered a roast pork plate (roast pork, heavy gravy, and rice) - real rich and heavy.  You don't get that at home.  The only thing I didn't care for is the Chinese food on the island - they are American-Chinese food (chop suey, egg foo young, etc.). Also they rename some Chinese dishes - siu mi is called pork hash.  Fried won ton is called gow gee.

Again I had fun going to the swap meet.  You need to set aside time to go down row and row of stalls.  After awhile everything looks the same - be patient.  Also know what you want because after awhile, you can't remember why you were there.  I got burnt here because I forgot to latter myself with sunscreen.  The sun really get blazing hot there - you are at the Aloha Stadium parking lot.  The asphalt really get hot after awhile.

The girls had fun here because they love the swimming pool here on this island.  Go figure.  This is our hotel pool on Memorial holiday - crowded.  On Tuesday, the crowd left so the girls had the run of this pool.  The pool had two big slides.

Thinking

As you notice I have not "blog" for awhile.  I have gone to Facebook.  I am doing a lot over there.  I am thinking (just thinking) only but I am really thinking of shutting this blog down.  The reason is 1) it is not free (I know I can go to the Freebie) 2) really haven't the time 3) the girls are really keeping me busy with their social and other activities.

I am still thinking so I am going away for awhile and when I come back, I will make my decision.

She 10 and only 54 pounds

yes, that's my number one daughter.  We went for our annual check up and she is 51 inches tall and only 54 pounds.  Sorry correct that 54 and 1/2 pounds as she keeps reminding me - that extra 1/2 really is important to her.  Wait until she learn to forget that extra 1/2 pounds when she is older.  The pediatrician said she is in 10% on the height but not even on the scale for weight.

I was telling the big guy, I don't get it.  #1 eats more than I and she is only 54 1/2 pounds.  Big guy tells me #1 really has a high metabolism.  She will always be junior petite but hey, it took us over a year to get beyond 50 pounds.

She also grew 5 inches since her last check up which is two years ago.  I noticed her height growth because she is near my chin.  The doctor told me quietly that she doesn't see #1 body changing just yet.  She said now a day the girls maturity and body internal change are happening more earlier.  She told me not to worry because #1 will be a little late. She told me she isn't worry so she doesn't want me to worry.  I love their pediatrician - she is so calm and up front with parents.

I am going to beat him up!!

Okay, everyday now we have been getting the same routine - eat, sleep and you know what.  That's what he has been doing.  He tells me that he didn't have a chance to eat lunch so when he get home, he is so hungry that he has to eat something.   So when it is dinner time, he skip eating with us.  When the girls are ready to go to bed, he has fallen asleep already.  The guy is still on East Coast time.  This is drying me crazy.

So today, I told him, if he keeps doing this, I will be very upset with him and run away.  He look at me as if I was crazy.  I told him - enough is enough.  I cannot handle this craziness anymore.  So he told me he will eat dinner with us.  Yes, again he was falling asleep on us right after dinner.  I told him if he fall asleep before eight, he owes me $50.00.  Guess who won, me.

So starting tomorrow, I am going to make him get his clock adjusted to the West Coast time.

55 pounds

Yup that's how much Ms. J weights.  I wish I can say I weight that much.  What started all is this was J came running into the kitchen and told me she weight 60 lbs.  I told myself with the way she eats, that's normal for her.  But just to confirm how much she weight, I told her to get on the scale.  Our scale - gives or takes a few pound.  This depends on how light you want the body to be weighing.  I double check to make sure the arrow is pointing at "o".  I told J to get on, the arrow stopped at 55 pounds.  J was looking at me like "gee, really Mom".  I ask J when did she weight herself where she sees the arrow at 60 lbs.  J told me right after she ate her breakfast.  I knew that was why she weighted so much.

As not to be left out, K got on the scale.  DA dum - drum role, K weight is a good 52 pounds.  Hey it took her a good year to get beyond 49 lbs.  I told K to keep eating and someday you might pass your little sister.  K is 10 years old and 21 months older than her little sister but one thing she can't beat her sister - the weight.  I told her that was okay, when you get older, you wish you were 52 lbs.

I'm a cactus

No, not me but K - she wanted to be a cactus for her class.  Every 4th grader (no matter what school she attends) have to learn about the history of California.  It is a rule.  So to make learning about California fun, they have a class participation.  The class dress up what is native to California - cowboy, Indian, farmer, etc and natural plant (so K wanted to be a cactus).  Each member of the class must memorized a key word that relates to California.  K really had a great time memorizing her two words and I had fun put "pipe cleaner" on her outfit.  Without much ado - my cactus

something new

Hey, remember her -

Recital 4_19_09 015
See that missing tooth - well, today J told me she is feeling something hard inside her pink stuff (that's the gum J).  Anyway, I noticed something was not right with her the last couple of days.  When I go and wake her (at 7 a.m.), she is in her bedroom with the light on reading.  This has been going on for a couple of days now.  She told me one day she woke up at 5:30 a.m.  Now this girl can take pain so cutting a new tooth must of hurt but she never complaint to me at all.

Today when I went to wake her, no light on in her bedroom.  I had to say in a very loud voice "wake up J" this morning.  So I guess when she cut her gum, she is feeling less pain.  I am so glad now the new tooth is coming out.  The other problem is with a missing tooth, her enunciation of words was really bad.

I'm here

Hello - yes I am still around. Yes, I have been away from "blogging" for awhile.  No, don't worry I have no plans to give this blogging up.  I know I am writing for myself but that's okay.  My original plan when I started this "blog" was for me but I guess a couple of "friends" joined in later - thank you.

Anyway, I kept myself away because I needed a break.  As you know the big guy have been traveling back and forth from the West Coast to the East Coast (vice versa) for the last 2 months.  This constant traveling by the big guy have taken a toll on me being the mom, dad, family counselor, taxi mom, etc.  I think the point where I lost it when I can't remember why I was a the refrigerator or I promise someone I will be there and forget to go there.  I tell myself that's just a "mommy being forgetful" but seriously I don't remember what you say in two second.  When the big guy told me last week, he is done traveling for his current project, I just lost it.

Well now he is staying put for awhile, I took a long break.  Sorry but yes I am back.  Here is a picture I took of the girls when they were getting ready for their recital.  Enjoy.
